HSCL

Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) Coordinator
My name is Natasha Branigan and I am the Home School Community Liaison (HSCL) Coordinator for Marymount NS. I was a mainstream class teacher for 20 years before taking on this role in 2023.
Role of the HSCL Coordinator:
- To support parents in their key role as their child’s primary educator.
- To act as a link between home and school.
- To help parents connect with the school community.
- To link parents to services and supports in the local area.
- To help Parents to reconnect with their own education.
Contact:
I am available to chat about any matters concerning parents. You can find me at the school gate every morning and at collection time. You can call/text me on 0894694093 or email hscl@marymountgns.ie

Home Visits:
Home visits are a very important part of the HSCL programme. I try to visit as many parents as possible throughout the school year so please don’t be alarmed if you find me on your doorstep!
Classes/Activities for Parents:
We run free parent classes, talks and activities throughout the year. These classes are a wonderful opportunity for parents to get to know other parents while picking up some new skills. I will send information about the classes through the Aladdin app and on our school social media. Some of the classes that we have run include Aromatherapy, Dance fitness class, Art Classes, Parents Walking Group, Crochet Class, Reading with your Child, Science Class and Maths skills for parents and their children.
Attendance:
As HSCL Coordinator, I have a role in encouraging attendance in school. I run attendance drives and offer support to parents who are having issues around attendance and school refusal. Please feel free to contact me if you need support with your child’s attendance.
