PE./Sport
Physical Education is a vibrant and essential part of school life in Marymount, supporting our students' physical, social, and emotional development. Through a broad and balanced PE curriculum, children are introduced to a variety of physical activities across six key strands: Athletics, Dance, Gymnastics, Games, Outdoor and Adventure Activities, and Aquatics.
As they progress through the school, children have the opportunity to receive expert coaching in a range of disciplines including GAA, Dance, Rugby, Basketball, Swimming, and Cycling. These experiences not only develop fundamental movement skills but also nurture teamwork, resilience, and a love of sport.
Our school is proud to have a Gaelic team, offering pupils the chance to represent Marymount and build a strong sense of school spirit. We also embrace national initiatives such as Active Schools, regularly participating in programmes like Skip Around Europe to encourage fun, daily activity.
A highlight of the school year is our Annual Sports Day in June. To keep momentum going outside the classroom, we also promote Active Homework during the summer term, encouraging children to stay active and healthy at home.
We believe that Physical Education is for everyone, and we strive to provide inclusive, engaging, and varied opportunities for all our students to thrive.
